The inspiration for this painting was the many weather worn rootballs pushed up on beaches that become part of the landscape.  The folds and grains of the wood show the timeline's of the tree's lives.  The little wren is always there on a BC beach, flitting about, finding a playgound on the ancient root system of the driftwood.
